Dyson Energy Concept

Thanks to the Seebeck effect, the temperature difference between the surface which touch the skin and the other which is in the ambient air allows to produce electricity that is stocked in a battery. When the user needs to recharge a mobile device, he plugs it into the Dyson Energy through a micro-USB port (universal connector imposed to constructors in 2012) and can have some additional minutes in use.

Designed by Mathieu Servais, Camille Lefer, Clément Faydi, and Mickaël Denié third year students in Industrial Design at Nantes Atlantic Design School (France).

Santachiara’s Zabriskie Point

From the center of Denis Santachiara’s Zabriskie Point suspension lamp is an egg-shaped lighting structure designed for Italian lighting manufacturer de Majo Illuminazione. From the center of the fixture, Santachiara attached glass fragments on all sides to capture and change the arrangement of light as it bursts from the Zabriskie Point. Elegant and striking, this lighting sculpture would be a fantastic addition to a dining space for those looking to leave their dinner guests wowed. Certainly I would be stricken by this bold accent in a contemporary space, and it definitely caught my eye right away on the internet (so I can’t imagine how I’d react if I saw the Zabriskie Point in person aside from “wow”ing. Or possibly “ooh”ing and “ahh”ing).

The Power Outlet of Tomorrow : Node Power Outlet

To be honest I think that I’m not the only one who noticed the increasing number of electronic devices intruding our apartments as well as offices, and all these gadgets require lots of sockets. An elegant solution to this problem is the Node Power Outlet, that makes the power strips almost useless. “Node” is an innovative solution to the scruffy problem that not just amps up multiple plugs in the circuit, but it featuring a simple yet fresh design also go hand in had with the interior decoration. Finally I can say that from a design perspective this idea looks very good, but I’m not sure that the idea will pass the safety standards. – Via – BBG & Metaphys
